Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1 package taco seasoning plus water as directed on the package
  • 2 cans Pillsbury pizza dough
  • 12 Colby Jack cheese sticks
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Keep the pizza dough refrigerated until ready to use.
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned (about 5–7 minutes). Drain the excess fat.
  • Add the minced garlic, taco seasoning, and the water as called for on the taco seasoning package. Cook over high heat for 2–3 minutes, or until the water has evaporated. Remove from heat.
  • Unroll one can of pizza dough on a parchment-lined baking sheet and shape it into a 12x8-inch rectangle. Cut into 6 even 4x4-inch squares. Repeat with the second can for a total of 12 rectangles.
  • Scoop about 3 tablespoons of the taco meat mixture into the center of each dough square.
  • Cut each cheese stick in half and place a half on top of the meat filling.
  • Fold up the sides of the dough and pinch to seal, then fold and seal the ends to the same side as the seam. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet. Be careful not to overstretch the dough.
  • Melt the butter in the microwave and stir in garlic powder and dried parsley. Brush the tops of the taco sticks with the seasoned butter.
  • Bake for 12–14 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown and puffy.
