Course: Lunch, Snack
Cuisine: American
Servings: 6 Wraps
- 2 chicken breasts cooked and sliced
- 6 large burrito-sized tortillas
- 3 cups lettuce chopped
- 1 large tomato diced
- 1 avocado diced
- 1 cup sour cream
- 3 cups yellow sharp cheddar cheese grated
Cook the Chicken
Rinse and pat dry the chicken breasts. Season both sides with salt and pepper.
Preheat a pan over medium-high heat and add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Place the chicken in the skillet, cover with a lid, and cook for about 5–7 minutes on one side.
Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165–170°F.
Remove from the pan and let the chicken rest before slicing into thin strips.
Prepare the Ingredients
Slice the cooked chicken.
Chop the lettuce, dice the tomato and avocado, and grate the cheddar cheese.
Layer each tortilla with:
½ cup chopped lettuce
¼ cup diced tomatoes
A few pieces of diced avocado
1 tablespoon sour cream
A few slices of grilled chicken
¼ cup grated sharp cheddar cheese
Wrap the tortilla tightly, folding in the edges like an envelope to secure the filling.
Repeat with the remaining tortillas and ingredients.
Grill the Wraps
Preheat a clean, dry pan over medium-high heat (no oil needed).
Place the wraps seam-side down in the pan. Grill for 2–3 minutes, or until the bottom is golden brown and crispy.
Flip and grill the other side for another 2–3 minutes.
Grilled Wraps: Grilling adds a crispy texture that enhances the flavor.
Serving Suggestion: If making these for lunch, wrap them individually in foil or a resealable bag.
Filling Tips: Avoid overfilling the tortillas, as it makes them harder to wrap.
Chicken Options: Use grilled, pan-seared, shredded, rotisserie, or any pre-cooked chicken you have on hand.
Ingredient Variations: Add extras like peppers, onions, or bacon for more flavor.
Sour Cream Tip: Adding sour cream inside the wrap blends all the flavors in each bite, but it can also be served on the side.
Tortilla Alternatives: If using smaller tortillas, enjoy them taco-style instead of wrapping.
Storage Tips
Refrigeration: Store wraps in the fridge for a few hours. The cheese won’t stay melted, but they’ll still taste great. Avoid refrigerating overnight, as the lettuce may wilt and the avocado may brown.
