  • Preheat the Oven: Set the oven to 375°F and line three baking sheets with parchment paper.
  • Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  • Cream the Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
  • Add the Eggs and Vanilla: Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy (about 1 minute).
  • Incorporate the Dry Ingredients: Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until fully combined.
  • Fold in the Chocolate Chips: Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
  • Form the Cookies: Roll 2-3 tablespoons of dough into balls and place them evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake: Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are just beginning to turn golden brown. The centers will still look slightly underbaked.
  • Cool: Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For extra chewy cookies, slightly underbake them and let them finish setting on the baking sheet.
