Ingredients

  • 1 pound large fresh strawberries tops cut off
  • 24 Double Stuf Oreo cookies
  • 4 ounces cream cheese
  • 12 ounces chocolate candy melts such as Ghirardelli
  • Chocolate sprinkles optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Slice the green caps off each strawberry in a straight line across the top. Use a melon baller or strawberry huller to hollow out the center of each berry, creating space for the filling. Discard the tops and inner cores. Pat strawberries dry—especially the cut edges—and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  • In a food processor, pulse the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs. Add cream cheese and process until the mixture is smooth, moist, and holds together when rolled.
  • Using a ½-tablespoon or 2-teaspoon measuring spoon, scoop and roll the Oreo mixture into small balls. Gently press each truffle ball into the center of a prepared strawberry, pressing the top of the truffle to be level with the cut surface of the berry.
  • Melt the chocolate candy melts according to package instructions. Dip the tops of each filled strawberry into the melted chocolate, letting the excess drip off.
  • Immediately decorate with chocolate sprinkles or crushed Oreo crumbs, if desired. Allow chocolate to set before serving.
  • Serve the strawberries the same day for best freshness and texture.
