- 1 family-size box brownie mix plus ingredients to prepare (see note)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 ½ cups corn syrup
- 4 eggs
- ¼ cup unsalted butter melted
- 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups pecans chopped or whole
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set aside.
Prepare the brownie batter according to package directions. Pour it into the prepared baking dish.
Bake for 20 minutes, or 10 minutes less than the time listed on the box instructions.
While brownies bake, mix together the sugar, corn syrup, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a medium bowl. Stir in the pecans.
After the initial bake, remove the brownies from the oven and carefully pour the pecan mixture over the top. Spread evenly.
Return the pan to the oven and bake for an additional 25–35 minutes, or until the pecan filling is set but still slightly jiggles in the center.
Let cool completely at room temperature (about 1 hour) before cutting into 20 squares. Serve and enjoy!
If you can’t find a family-size brownie mix (made for a 9×13 pan), use two regular 8×8-inch brownie mixes and their listed ingredients instead.
For extra texture, use a mix of chopped and whole pecans.
To cleanly slice, chill the brownies briefly before cutting with a sharp knife.
